Saving your skin

Help save lives by giving doctors and surgeons the tools of the future today. Here at RAFT we are working on creating artificial skin and bionic limbs. While these projects might seem out of a movie, we're making them real.
 
Skin injuries can affect anyone of any age: a child burned by a barbeque; a teenager hurt in an accident; a parent in a car crash; or an elderly relative getting deep skin ulcers during a long hospital stay.

While artifical limbs have been around since the pharaohs, the technology hasn't changed much since then. At RAFT we are working on prosthetics which will connect to a person's muscles, allowing easy movement of the limb.

However, to do this big job, we need your help. In turn, we can help you earn your Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
